First Craftster Swap

Here are the results of my first craft swap on Craftster. It was a Harry Potter theme, as you may be able to tell.

And this is what she sent me (well, not the Strong Bad autograph, but Strong Bad is just a hottie)! Note both the banner and my Strong Bad pic are tacked up with my marvelous "Hufflepuff Tacks"!

Unfortunately, I sprained my right shoulder and haven't been able to do anything knitting or crochet-related for more than about 5 minutes without my shoulder aching. It's terrible when your main arm is injured, although fascinating to me that muscles in your shoulder are directly involved in anything your hand does.

Garage Sale Day

Today we had a garage sale. It's amazing how exhausting these things are. However, I made close to $100 just selling my junk. While I manned the sale, I started two projects: the Hufflepuff scarf I've been planning for weeks, and a cross between a wrap and a shrug. I'd explain more about the second, but I'm really not sure how, and it's almost done anyway, so I'll post pics of it soon.

My brother appeared Saturday night, unexpectedly. Last night he complained about the hat. He didn't like it. Plus I had let 3 loops fall off the dp needles and was already fussing at it. So I tore it all out. Maybe I'll do some research to find a pattern he likes. I don't know. Since it's not going to get cold for awhile, maybe I'll start some of my other projects.

I am finally getting close to finishing the hat I am making for my brother. I have been trying to knit him a hat for over a year now. I am on the top decreases. I hope he'll wear it, after all this. He's so picky! It can't be flashy or fun or noticable in any way basically.

New Blog Journey

For awhile now, I have wanted to keep a blog about my knitting and crochet projects. At least it might keep me on track with my projects. There are many knit and crochet blogs out there, and hopefully I can also investigate and feature some of these.

Currently, I am working on about 3 projects at once. I am trying to knit a very plain black hat for my brother, who says he'll only wear it if it's very unobtrusive. I'm also working on a crocheted poncho with cream-colored Light and Lofty, and I have a very unfinished crocheted afghan made with bright colors of Simply Soft that has been sitting in the office for weeks now untouched. All of these are of my own design.

Once I complete some of these, I would like to knit a Hufflepuff scarf, with matching hat and gloves for myself, and also a hat and scarf for my father.
